The Henrieville quadrangle lies in Garfield and Kane Counties in southern Utah and was mapped in 1968 and 1969 as part of the U.S. Geological Survey's program of classifying and evaluating Federal lands withdrawn for coal. Mapping was done on U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps at a scale of 1:24,000 with the aid of aerial photographs of about 1:49,000 scale.
The White Butte NE, NW, East, and West quadrangles, were mapped as part of the U.S. Geological Survey program of classifying Federal lands and to make a systemic study and evaluation of the coal resources. Economic resources in the White Butte quadrangles consist of coal, oil and gas, sodium chloride, limestone, rubble, and sand and gravel
This report provides a geologic map of the Blue Gap 7.5-minute quadrangle, located along the eastern flank of the Washakie Basin, Wyo. Geologic formations and individual coal beds were mapped at a scale of 1:24,000; surface stratigraphic sections were measured and described; and well logs were examined to determine coal correlations and thicknesses in the subsurface.
