The National Geologic Map Database: An accessible archive of the Nation's standardized geoscience information

Abstract

Ready access to published geologic maps and reports can be critical to professionals who need information about, for example, geohazards that could threaten the success of a site's planned development, or a roadway or pipeline routing. The National Geologic Map Database, or NGMDB, provides rapid access to well-documented and standardized geoscience information that can be used to support understanding and decisions on a wide range of societal issues.
